![]() ![]() I will test it a bit, a try to encapsulate it in a script that will set LD_LIBRARY_PATH first, and if it is all really working I'll make a post in the 'How I Did It' forum.ĭrwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Apr 25 18:44. I reran civctp without strace and it is now starting games. I checked the directory and found that ld-2.1.3.so and libc-2.1.3.so were existant, but ld-linux.so.2 and libc.so.6 were not, so I created the appropriate symlinks, tried again and strace complained about /opt/usr/local/lib/ld-linux.so.2 and libc.so.6 not being the required version 2.3. However, strace told me this time that /opt/usr/local/lib/ld-linux.so.2 was: 'no such file or directory' then it opened up /lib/ld-linux.so.2. However, I tried it again at your request and it still didn't work. ![]() I had tried that before, because Neverwinter Nights uses that is how I knew to try it, but it didn't work. Does anyone know a way I can tell Call To Power to use /opt/usr/local/lib as the library directory instead of /lib? However, judging by the output of 'strace civctp', Call To Power opens libraries (especially libc.so.6 and ld-linux.so.2) in /lib. It seems I now have the glibc object libraries in /opt/usr/local/lib. I've also installed gcc-2.95.3 into /opt/usr/local (-prefix=/opt/usr/local) and installed glibc-2.1.3 from source with -prefix=/opt/usr/local. I'm halfway through that, but I've copied the glibc-2.3.3.so from that instance to my current installation to get it booting again. I've taken this oportunity to rid my machine of Windows, which was on my faster, larger, SCSI drive, and install linux there. Well, I've gotten my system back up and running again. Basically, messing with glibc and gcc can put your system at extreme risk. Short of maybe installing gcc 2.95 into /opt somewhere, then installing glibc 2.1 into /opt also (using gcc 2.95 to compile it). there isn't anything that I know of that you can do. ![]()
